The Examiner: Hispanics try to mobilize vote for area November elections

October 30, 2007

We need your help NOW! Send in donations and come to Prince William County!

October 30, 2007

We’re in the final stretch of this sprint campaign! The media is closely following this story. Yesterday we held a press conference with Spanish and English media, including the Washington Post, Univision and Telemundo. Telemundo national network went on the campaign trail with me today. NPR will be on the campaign trail with me on Friday, and Univision national network will be there on Saturday.

We have a very real possibility of victory. So, I’m asking for your help. Send your donations to the campaign TODAY. Whatever amount, big and small, will help defray the cost of expenses. We have lawn signs ready to go up. We need to purchase wooden stakes for 2,500 signs; they need to go up no later than TOMORROW.

I’m also asking you to come to Prince William County. This is a historic moment in our community. Never before have we had two Latino candidates and one African American candidate on the ballot. We need your help canvassing non-stop. We will also need help staffing the polls on Tuesday, November 6.

We need change NOW. We cannot wait four more years. Please send your donations and come to Prince William County!

Write your checks to:

Hispanic elected officials in the Washington area yesterday urged immigrant voters to vote next Tuesday to demonstrate their political power and counter what they called a troubling surge of anti-immigrant sentiment in parts of the region.

Sample Ballot

October 30, 2007

Attached is one of four sample ballots voters will see when they go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov 6.

Sample Ballot

My district, Neabsco, cuts across two VA Senate and two VA House districts.  Despite the four different possibilities due to the state races, the screen for the County Supervisor position is always the 5th screen.

VOTERS WHO WISH TO CAST A BALLOT FOR ARACELY PANAMENO MUST PRESS THE “WRITE-IN” OPTION.

A new screen with a keyboard will appear that will allow voters to type in my name ARACELY PANAMENO.

Misspellings, typos, and transpositions of letters on my name will NOT disqualify the vote.
