Help get the vote out. Volunteers needed!

Getting Out the Vote

On October 29th at 1:00 pm, Latino leaders from the metropolitan
region joined the SEIU 32BJ in an effort to get out the vote. Latino elected officials Walter Tejada, Vice-Chair, Arlington County Board, VA; Ana Sol Gutierrez, State Delegate, District 18, Montgomery County, MD; Carlos Solis, Candidate for City Council, Gaithersburg, MD; and Aracely PanameƱo, Candidate for Supervisor, Neabsco District, Prince William County, VA spoke at a press conference organized by the SEIU 32BJ. Latino leaders representing community organizations included Gustavo Torres, Executive Director, Casa de Maryland; and Pedro Aviles, Executive Director, National Capital Immigrant Coalition.

The message on the importance of voter participation in the election is being disseminated. Now I need working hands to put together the signs, to post signs around my district, to hand out literature, and to staff the polls.

We need volunteers for 8 poll sites to work from 6:00 am till 7:00 pm. Volunteers will need to remind voters to vote for Aracely Panameno and explain how to write the name in. A schedule will be posted for volunteers. Volunteers will need to print copy of the Sample Ballot.

The ballot has candidates for the VA Senate, VA House of Delegates, Clerk of the Court, the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Sheriff, Soil and Water Conservation Director, PWC Chair Board of Supervisors, NEABSCO SUPERVISOR, Chair School Board, and Neabsco School Board.

Voters will need to write in Aracely Panameno when they get to the 5th screen of the ballot, NEABSCO Supervisor. The name of the incumbent, John D. Jenkins, will appear on the screen; voters will have to press the “WRITE-IN” option. Misspellings, typos, and transpositions of letters on my name will NOT disqualify the vote. Please see instructions.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Abrazos,

Aracely
